Bio

The Mad Trist is a Dutch alternative rock band founded in 2005 by long-time friends and song writing duo Arthur von Berg and Jan Franzen. In the first few years the band won several band contests while maturing their sound and recording 2 EP’s. In 2008 they won 2nd place in the worldwide band contest Emergenza out of 6000 bands!

With the gained attention and live reputation the band signed a record deal at PIAS Benelux and released their debut album “Pay The Piper” early 2010. The album got rave reviews and brought the band to sold out club shows, festivals and magazine covers.

After touring for almost 2 years The Mad Trist decided to focus on their second album and explore new musical directions. Meanwhile the rhythm section was replaced by Ed van Hees on bass and Roy Moonen on drums. This resulted in the inspired and multi layered album “Animals & Acrobats” (2013) delivering an exciting mix of  dark guitars, catchy melodies, hip-hop grooves and trippy vocal harmonies.

Since early 2013 The Mad Trist is touring again with its highly energetic live shows.
